Aftershock Featured The Quireboys Live in Concert on March 8, 2020
A modest crowd of approximately 35 people got the show of a lifetime when iconic English rock band The Quireboys performed at the Aftershock live music venue in Merriam, KS on March 8, 2020. Fronted by founder Spike, the blues rockers tore the house down in celebration of the their 35th anniversary with everything from the late-’80s classics to tunes off the brand new album, “Amazing Disgrace” (2019).
Just like three and a half decades ago, Spike was a ball of energy thrashing across the stage. Even with limited space, he danced and twirled his mic stand throughout the entire set and never slowed for a moment. His awesomely raspy voice combined with the smooth incessant blues guitars and organ sounds backed by that extra heavy pounding of the drums made for the most euphoric performance.
Joining Spike on tour and stage were classic member Guy Griffin (guitar) plus Keith Weir (keyboards) and Paul Guerin (guitar) along with newest comers Nick Mailing (bass) and Dave McCluskey (drums). For the entire 75 minutes, they played as if they were in front of sold out crowd. And that is exactly what a performance of this caliber deserved. The ever-so-intimate showing was one that leaves you on cloud nine and with the never-ending feels. It was the absolute most perfect final concert before this phenomena of unfortunate postponements and cancellations by artists worldwide.
