T-Mobile Center Presented Journey and Toto in Concert on March 16, 2022
It was a monumental night featuring the staple rock hits of the ’80s as Journey brought its “Freedom” tour to T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, MO with special guest Toto. Led by Steve Lukather (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Williams (lead vocals), Toto opened the night with long-time touring member and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ham plus Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (keyboards), as well as new-comers Steve Maggiora (keyboards), Robert “Sput” Searight (drums) and John Pierce (bass) from Huey Lewis and the News. Journey featured founder Neal Schon (lead guitar), classic member and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Cain plus Todd Jensen (bass) filling in for Randy Jackson along with Deen Castronovo (drums), newcomer Jason Derlatka (keyboards) and lead singer Arnel Pineda who has fronted the band for 15 years now. The legendary bands blew the roof off the arena from start to finish for a multiple generations of fans; an evening which concluded without fans flooding the aisles to beat the rush, but with them sticking around and not wanting to go home.
