Return of Sister Hazel to Ameristar Casino Kansas City with Spin Doctors
Rock band Sister Hazel returned to Star Pavilion inside of Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO for a live concert on October 21, 2022. It was almost three years prior when the group last graced the stage for a solo performance. This time around, however, fellow ’90s act Spin Doctors joined the festivities. Sister Hazel continues to feature its full cast of original members—Ken Block (vocals/acoustic guitar), Jett Beres (bass/harmonies), Andrew Copeland (rhythm guitar/vocals), Ryan Newell (guitar/harmonies) and Mark Trojanowski (drums)—plus featured touring member Dave LaGrande (keyboard/sax). The lineup of tunes included some alternates from the last visit, but of thankfully still included “This Kind of Love” with Andrew Copeland on the keyboard and Dave LaGrande on the saxophone. Block even took to the crowd for a wild rendition of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” and stayed there to close out the set with the band’s biggest hit, “All For You.” Spin Doctors still features original members as well—Chris Barron (lead vocals), Eric Schenkman (guitar) and Aaron Comess (drums)—along with touring member Jack Daley (bass). Backed by Barron’s charismatic dancing, the group kicked off the night hot and featured its hits “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes.”
