Ameristar KC Hosted The Oak Ridge Boys on the Group’s Farewell Tour
Legendary country and Southern gospel music quartet The Oak Ridge Boys returned to Ameristar Casino‘s Star Pavilion in Kansas City, MO for a live concert on October 6, 2023. Just a handful of weeks prior to the show it was announced that the group was embarking on its final trek. Dubbed the “American Made” farewell tour, the outing also celebrates 50 years of the current lineup—William Lee Golden (baritone), Duane Allen (lead vocals), Richard Sterban (bass) and Joe Bonsall (tenor). Though retirement is on the horizon, they did mention that there is no end yet in sight. The set again featured several of the chart-topping country hits from the 1980s, including “American Made,” “Trying to Love Two Women,” “Gonna Take a Lot of River” and “Beautiful You” plus, of course, “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue” to close out the night.
