Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City Brings Stryper to Star Pavilion
Christian metal band Stryper is set to perform live in concert at Star Pavilion inside of Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City on Friday, May 25. The group is known for being the first of its genre to gain mainstream acceptance. Brothers Michael Sweet (lead vocals and guitar) and Robert Sweet (drums) founded the band as Roxx Regime in 1983. They soon changed their name to Stryper, which is derived from the Isaiah 53:5 passage of the Bible. Along with Oz Fox (guitar and vocals) and Tim Gaines (bass), they success throughout the 1980s, including the two No. 32 albums “To Hell with the Devil” and “In God We Trust” plus the Top 40 hit and power ballad “Honestly.” After the departure Gaines this past year, Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse) was announced as the band’s new bass player.
Tickets for the Stryper performance at Star Pavilion go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, February 9 with presales starting at 10am on February 6, and are available online via Ticketmaster, at the venue box office or by calling 816-414-7000.
