Rock the Ribbon III feat. Boyz II Men Live at The Midland in Kansas City on June 21, 2018
Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City returned to Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland for its Rock the Ribbon event in support of its mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever on June 21, 2018. As presented by The University of Kansas Cancer Center, the annual gala, which includes dinner and a live auction for sponsors plus a music concert open to the public, celebrated its third monumental anniversary. Rock bands Heart and Barenaked Ladies performed in the past and this year was another blockbuster as it featured legendary R&B group Boyz II Men.
Together, baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman dazzled the crowd with their ever-soulful voices and impeccable a cappella harmonies that led Boyz II Men to become the best-selling R&B group of all time. It was an intimate performance as attendees fled from their sponsor tables to the stage front for an up close experience with the heart-throbbing trio. With sincere appreciation for all the years of fan support, Boyz II Men delivered all of its greatest tunes, ending the evening with the traditional giving out of the roses and a swooning performance of its first chart-topping hit.
It was an absolutely elegant evening as the community came together in support of its revered breast cancer foundation. Our city is blessed with such a proactive and inspiring leader that brings together other organizations, businesses and its citizens to end this deadly disease for good. The Kansas City chapter of Susan G. Komen hosts a plethora events throughout the year in which you can take part. To learn more about getting involved, please visit komenkansascity.org.
