Jackson Browne Performed Live at Kansas City Music Hall on June 24, 2018

Quintessential folk rock icon Jackson Browne performed live in concert at Music Hall in downtown Kansas City, MO on June 24, 2018. Among a clamoring sold out crowd, he along with his 7-person backing band unleashed a phenomenal 2-part, 26-song set that included classic hits from the ’70s and ’80s plus even some newer tunes as well. Jackson mentioned how the band gets use to certain things being the same each time they play. However, “the one thing that doesn’t have to be just so is the setlist,” he stated as he took requests from the crowd.

The night featured Jackson switching between the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and piano as he and his bandmates swept the audience away with that signature smooth, easy-listening sound that he has exemplified throughout his career. Out on the road with him were Bob Glaub (bass), Mauricio Lewak (Drums), Shane Fontayne (guitar), Jeff Young (keyboards), Greg Leisz (guitar/lap steel/pedal steel), Alethea Mills (vocals) and Chavonne Stewart (vocals). Set against the perfect backdrop and combined with an impeccable lighting display, the ambiance for the evening was absolutely pristine.

Tying it back to Kansas City, the first performance of the encore featured the Eagle’s song “Take It Easy.” It is a song that Jackson said he learned to play by listening on the radio, even though he himself wrote it along with Glenn Frey. He penned the tune for a girl whom he crushed on at an early age, but who had grown way out of his league by high school. That gal, Diane, moved away at that time to no where else but Kansas City. He gave a sweet shout out to her in hopes that she was in the audience as he and the band went on to dazzle the fervent fans.
