Country Rock Band Exile Performs Live at Johnson County Old Settlers

Johnson County Old Settlers makes its triumphant return to downtown Olathe, Kansas on September 6–8. The annual 3-day event is put on by the Not for Profit organization in order to keep alive the old settler tradition. Included in the festivities are a carnival, parade, auto show, arts and crafts, food vendors, commercial booths, live entertainment and much more. Headlining the live music concert performances this year is country rock band Exile on Saturday, September 8 as a part of its “No Limit” tour in celebration of 55 years. The lineup features all original members of the country version of the group formulated between 1978 and 1980, including founding member J.P. Pennington (lead vocals/guitar) along with classic members Marlon Hargis (keyboards), Steve Goetzman (drums), Sonny LeMaire (bass/vocals) and Les Taylor (guitar/vocals). Exile hits include songs such “I Woke Up in Love,” “She’s a Miracle,” “Hang on to Your Heart,” “I Could Get Used to You,” “Super Love,” “It’ll Be Me,” “She’s Too Good to Be True,” “I Can’t Get Close Enough” and that soft rock ballad and first chart-topper, “Kiss You All Over.”

The free live music at Johnson County Old Settlers on September 8 begins at 6:30pm with Kansas City’s very own Funk Syndicate, then Exile will take the stage at 8pm.
