Kansas City’s Shooting Star to Perform Live at Old Shawnee Days 2019
Every year, Old Shawnee Days kicks off the summer season for thousands of families with a parade and carnival featuring special attractions and an assortment of live music concerts boasting local, regional and national artists. Nearly 100,000 people attend annually, and this year the festival spectacular will treat patrons to the eminent sounds of Kansas City’s own legendary rock band Shooting Star. A staple of the 1980s, the beloved group is known for its highly energetic live performances and classic tunes such as “Touch Me Tonight,” “You Got What I Need,” “Hollywood,” “Last Chance” and “Flesh and Blood.” Shooting Star returned to the stage for the first time in three in a half years and for the first time since the passing of the late great Van McLain in front of a sold out crowd at Ameristar Casino’s Star Pavilion this past January. It was an absolutely electric evening and now is the perfect opportunity for the maniacs to catch their cherished group under the “Summer Sun” once again.
