Christopher Cross to Perform Live at Madrid Theatre in Kansas City
Multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Christopher Cross is set to perform live at Madrid Theatre in Kansas City, MO on Thursday, March 29, 2018. The singer, songwriter and guitarist made history upon the release of his self-titled debut album in December 1979. He won five Grammys for his work and, for the first time ever, the four most prestigious—Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year (“Sailing”) and Song of the Year (“Sailing), as well as Best Arrangement (“Sailing”). The singles “Sailing” and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” both topped the the pop chart and “Ride Like the Wind” reached No. 2. “Arthur’s Theme” went on to win an Academy Award for Best Song and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. Cross continued to release hits throughout the ’80s, including “All Right” and “Think of Laura.” He even wrote and performed “A Chance for Heaven,” the song to the 1984 Summer Olympics. Today, Cross still records and performs, and has recently released his brand new album, “Take Me As I Am.”
