Gene Watson Performed Live at Ameristar Casino’s Star Pavilion on February 23, 2019

Real country music legend Gene Watson made his way back to Ameristar Casino’s Star Pavilion in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Exactly a year later after his previous stop, it was yet another for amazingly heartfelt evening with his five-piece band, including his lead guitarist, steel guitar player, bassist, keyboard player and drummer. They joined him in taking the crowd on a stroll through his career in music spanning the past five and a half decades. Watson entered the business back in 1962, but it was not until 1975 with “Love in the Hot Afternoon” that he got his big break. The proud Texan served fans to that hit plus many others from throughout his years such as “Nothing Sure Looks Good on You,” “Don’t Waste It on the Blues,” “Paper Rosie,” that chart-topping tune “Fourteen Karat Mind” and no doubt his most requested song—celebrating its 40th anniversary—”Farewell Party.” As always, fans flocked to the venue corridor to meet the icon as his shook hands and signed autographs following his performance.
