Howard Jones & Men Without Hats Set to Perform at Ameristar Casino’s Star Pavilion
English electro-legend Howard Jones announced summer dates for his “Transform” tour across North America in support of his brand new album by the same name set to release on May 10. It celebrates the 35th anniversary of “Human’s Lib” plus tracks from that new record. The trek begins on June, 6 at The Paramount in Huntington, NY and is scheduled to hit Ameristar Casino in Kansas City on Saturday, June 22. Jones last came to KC on June 4, 2016 as a part of the “Last Summer on Earth” tour with Barenaked Ladies and OMD at Starlight Theatre. Previously, he had not played in town in 30 years and this will be his first headlining performance here in even longer. Joining him for the special night and the entire outing is fellow new wave and synthpop icon Ivan Doroschuk and his band Men Without Hats.
Howard Jones was a smash hit upon the release of his debut album “Human’s Lib” in 1983. It reached No. 1 in the UK and included the hit singles “New Song” (UK #3/US #27) and “What Is Love?” (UK #2/US #33). In 1985, he followed that up with “Dream Into Action”—a No. 2 album in the UK and Top 10 platinum record in the US—featuring his biggest singles in the States, “Things Can Only Get Better” (UK #6/US #5) and “No One is to Blame” (UK #16/US #4). Self-produced, “Transform” is his first studio album in almost 10 years. On three of the tracks, including the title one, he collaborated with renown electronica artist BT (All Hail the Silence), who is also set to hit the road with him. Canadian group Men Without Hats achieved its greatest success in the US with symbolic charting-topping dance tune “The Safety Dance” (CA #2/US #3) and “Pop Goes the World” (CA #2/US #27).

Tickets for the Howard Jones “Transform” tour stop at Star Pavilion go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, March 1 with pre-sales and VIP packages available starting at 10am on Tuesday, February 26.
