Grammy Award-winning English Musician and Singer-Songwriter Joe Jackson Set to Perform Live in Concert at Uptown Theater

Here is your chance to catch Joe Jackson live in concert. The English multi-genre musician and singer-songwriter brings his “Fast Forward” tour to Uptown Theater this Friday evening. He started his rise to stardom with a pop rock career in the late ’70s before diverging to the formal conservatory training of his youth and other musical interests. Jackson landed a hit with his very release, “Is She Really Going Out with Him?” in 1979. From there, he followed up with a handful of new wave singles before releasing the jazz-inflected pop tune “Steppin’ Out” in 1982, a No. 6 hit on the pop chart and his biggest in the United States. That hit along with a handful of his 1980s tunes are expected to be played when he comes to Kansas City, including “Real Men,” “You Can’t Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want),” “Be My Number Two” and “Home Town.”
