Lynyrd Skynyrd Added a Final Kansas City Show to its Farewell Tour
Emblematic Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd announced additional concert dates for its “Last of the Street Survivors” farewell tour. The trek launched on May 4 for a handful of dates throughout the month. The members will hit the road once again for the rest of its first leg on June 22 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Their hometown of Jacksonville, FL was originally planned for the final performance, but the routing just doubled in size. Included in the new dates is a final performance for Kansas City fans at Sprint Center on November 2.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is widely recognized for its live performances and those absolute staple tunes “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird.” Other iconic songs is the discography include “Saturday Night Special,” “Double Trouble,” “That Smell,” “What’s Your Name?” and “Simple Man.” The band lineup currently features classic members Gary Rossington (guitars), Rickey Medlocke (guitars/vocals) and Johnny Van Zant (lead vocals) along with Michael Cartellone (drums), Mark Matejka (guitars/vocals), Peter Keys (keyboards) and Keith Christopher (bass) plus touring members Dale Krantz-Rossington (vocals) and Carol Chase (vocals).
Tickets for Lynyrd Skynyrd in Kansas City cost between $29.50 and $350.00. Find them available via AXS, in person at the venue box office and by calling 816-949-7100 starting at 10am on Friday, June 15. Select presales begin at the same time on Tuesday, June 12. Sprint Center is located at 1407 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64106. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.
