Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives to Perform at Madrid Theatre
Country music superstar Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives are set to perform live in concert at Madrid Theatre in Kansas City, MO on Wednesday, February 21. The band returns to town after an absolutely impeccable performance at Folly last May in which Stuart commented that he loves every chance he gets to play at our historic theaters.
This upcoming performance is certainly another tremendous opportunity for fans to catch him in such a beautiful and intimate atmosphere. Last year, the group had just released the brand new album “Way Out West.” Stuart said he produced it as an acclamation to the mystique promised land having fascinated him as a child. “Everything that came out of California captivated my kid mind in Mississippi,” he shared. Fans can expect some of its tunes as a part of the setlist.

Marty Stuart started his career singing gospel at a young age before having launched four illustrious decades in American roots music. In the ’70s, he toured with legendary bluegrass musician Lester Flatts and spent six years in Johnny Cash’s band. In 1985, he started his prosperous solo career and released a plethora of hits throughout the late ’80s and ’90s, including “Arlene,” “Cry! Cry! Cry!,” “Hillbilly Rock,” “Little Things,” “Tempted” and “Burn Me Down.” The Grand Ole Opry sensation bestows numerous achievements, including platinum recording status, multiple Grammy Awards and has even earned the Lifetime Achievement Award via the American Music Association.
