Iconic British Post-Punk Band Modern English Returns to the United States

Britain’s iconic post-punk band Modern English makes a return to the U.S. this fall in support of its album “Take Me to the Trees” (2017), and will perform live at recordBar in downtown Kansas City, MO on November 2. For the first time in 30 years, the original lineup of Robbie Grey (vocals), Gary McDowell (guitar), Michael Conroy (bass) and Stephen Walker (keyboards) is back together for this brand new recording. Hear it live along with the group’s nostalgic new wave hits, including that quintessential tune “I Melt With You” (1983) from the motion picture soundtrack of the romantic comedy film “Valley Girl.” The set will also feature select songs from the albums “Mesh & Lace” (1981), “After the Snow” (1982), “Ricochet Days” (1984), “Stop Start” (1986) and more.
