The Psychedelic Furs to Perform Live at Granada Theater in Lawrence, KS
Quintessential English rock band The Psychedelic Furs is set to perform live in concert at The Granada Theater in Lawrence, KS on on Tuesday, August 7. Featuring brothers Richard Butler on vocals and Tim Butler on bass guitar, the post-punk group formed in 1977 and today continues to tour the world. The band released its self-titled debut album in 1980 and broke through in the United States with the release of its 1981 album, “Talk, Talk, Talk.” That record includes “Pretty in Pink,” which went on to become a staple song of the decade with help from its popularity as the featured tune in the motion picture soundtrack of the John Hughes cult classic film by the same name. The band discography also includes hits such as “Dumb Waiters,” “Love My Way,” “Heaven,” “The Ghost in You,” “Hearbreak Beat” and “All That Money Wants.” Joining Richard and Tim Butler on stage are classic member Mars Williams on saxophone (formerly of The Waitresses), Amanda Kramer on keyboards (formerly of Information Society and The Golden Palominos) and Paul Garisto on drums.
