recordBar Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Shows with The Rainmakers
Kansas City’s very own original rock band The Rainmakers brings its annual Thanksgiving weekend shows to recordBar in the Crossroads District on Friday, November 23 and Saturday, November 24. The 2-night performance is a staple event in the city since the reunion of the band in 2011, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of its debut album. Fronted by the charismatic Bob Walkenhorst, the group gained success throughout the United States, Europe and Norway in the ’80s and ’90s with songs like “Let My People Go-Go,” “Downstream,” “Small Circles,” “Snakedance,” “No Romance,” “Spend It on Love” and “Hoo Dee Hoo.” Today, Walkenhorst continues to lead the band along with founding member Rich Ruth (bass), classic member Pat Tomek (drums) and Jeff Porter (guitar) who was one half of a duo with Walkenhorst when they reunited.
Tickets for both evenings of The Rainmakers live in concert at recordBar cost $15.00 and are available online via Eventbrite and in person at the venue box off. The recordBar is located at 1520 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108. Doors open at 6pm, shows start at 7pm. Patrons must be 18 years of age or older to attend.
