Stryper Performed Live in Concert at Ameristar Casino in Kansas City on May 25, 2018

Christian metal band Stryper performed live at Star Pavilion inside of Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City on May 25, 2018 in support of their new album. Known for being the first group of its genre to gain mainstream acceptance, brothers Michael Sweet (lead vocals and guitar) and Robert Sweet (drums) first founded the band as Roxx Regime in 1983. They soon changed the band name to Stryper, a derivation from the Isaiah 53:5 passage of the Bible. With Oz Fox (guitar and vocals) and Tim Gaines (bass), they found major success throughout the 1980s. This includes two No. 32 albums, “To Hell with the Devil” and “In God We Trust,” plus the Top 40 hit and power ballad “Honestly.” After the departure Gaines in late 2017, Perry Richardson (formerly of Firehouse) joined as the new full-time bass player. Hardcore fans reveled in the moment as Stryper continued to prove its place in the spotlight with a combination of both classic and new tunes.
