Starlight Theatre Featured The Doobie Brothers on Its 50th Ann. Tour
Classic rock band The Doobie Brothers brought its 50th Anniversary tour to Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO on June 14, 2023. Live on stage were founding members Patrick Simmons (guitar/banjo/flute/vocals) and John McFee (guitar/violin/pedal steel guitar/harmonica/vocals) plus classic member Michael McDonald (vocals/keyboards) who left the band in 1996 and returned in 2019. Joining them were touring members John Cowan (bass/lead and backing vocals), Marc Russo (saxophone), Ed Toth (drums) and Marc Quiñones (percussion/backing vocals). The set included the group’s biggest hits to close out the night, such as “What a Fool Believes,” “China Grove,” “Black Water,” “Takin’ It to the Streets” and “Listen to the Music.”
