Canadian Rock Band The Guess Who Performed Live at Star Pavilion
Classic Canadian rock group The Guess Who returned to Ameristar Casino‘s Star Pavilion in Kansas City, MO on September 9, 2022. It was the band’s second appearance there in less than a year after previously selling out the venue. Founding member Garry Peterson (drums) was absent, but classic member Leonard Shaw (keyboards/saxophone/flute), Derek Sharp (lead vocals)—now its longest reigning frontman—plus newcomers Michael Staertow (lead guitar) and Michael Devin (bass guitar) were back on stage. This time around was a little less rowdy in the audience—maybe it was the nice new comfy seats that Star Pavilion implemented—but fans still reveled in those ’60s and ’70s hits that defined their era. The set included such songs as “Shakin’ All Over,” “These Eyes,” “No Time,” “American Woman” and “Share the Land.”
