Uptown Theater Hosts Todd Rundgren “Unpredictable” Performance
Rock legend Todd Rundgren returned to Kansas City for a live concert at Uptown Theater on July 3, 2022. The night was a part of one of his renown “Unpredictable” tours in which he and his band performs a new setlist every night—not even they know exactly what they will play when they step foot out on the stage. “Songs that no one would dare play these days…songs that you have never heard before let alone would pay to hear,” Rundgren said. Alongside his own popular songs—such as “Hello It’s Me” (Nazz) and “One World” (Utopia)—he and his band covered and handful of tunes as well, including “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” (The Proclaimers), “Muskrat Love” (America) and “The Walls Came Down” (The Call). The incredible cast on stage with him featured frequent collaborators Kasim Sultan (Utopia) on bass and Prairie Prince (The Tubes) on drums.
