Uptown Theater Presented Toto Live in Concert on March 29, 2023
Legendary rock group Toto made its return to Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO with its “Dogz of Oz” tour on March 29. The band last performed there on September 27, 2019 and was set to come back last year, but the date was postponed when it joined Journey on tour, thus appearing at T-Mobile Center instead. As a Kansas City favorite, fans were thrilled to get Toto back up close and personal on the nostalgic Uptown stage. The lineup still featured Steve Lukather (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Williams (lead vocals) along with Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (keyboards) and Warren Ham (saxophone/vocals), but also included Steve Maggiora (keyboards/vocals), Robert “Sput” Searight (drums) and John Pierce (bass). Toto’s multi-generational fanbase reveled in everything from the hits to rarely played tunes, such as “Pamela” and “Waiting for Your Love.”
