Journey “Freedom” Tour with Toto Hits T-Mobile Center in Kansas City
Two legendary rock bands are set to perform live at T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, MO on March 16. Journey announced its “Freedom” tour hitting arenas around the country back in November of last year, which was originally set to feature Billy Idol on the first leg and Toto on the second. However, Idol had to drop out as he is to undergo sinus surgery, thus Toto will now join Journey on the entire trek.
Toto was already scheduled to return to Uptown Theater on March 19 on its “Dogz of Oz” tour though. That performance is postponed for a date to be determined. If you happened to catch Toto there on the “40 Trips Around the Sun” tour in September 2019, you know it was one of the most magical nights and one to relive. This time, the band will still feature Steve Lukather (guitar/vocals) and Joseph Williams (lead vocals) along with Dominique “Xavier” Taplin (keyboards) and Warren Ham (saxophone/vocals), but will also include Steve Maggiora (keyboards/vocals), Robert “Sput” Searight (drums) and John Pierce (bass).
Journey is no stranger to the T-Mobile stage as its last concert in KC was there at the then Sprint Center in July 2018. It was a wild night, and the band is sure to deliver once again. On stage fans will catch classic members Neal Schon (guitar) and Jonathan Cain (keyboards) along with Randy Jackson (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums), Arnel Pineda (lead vocals), Jason Derlatka (keyboards) and Narada Michael Walden (drums). Expect to hear all the hits such as “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Open Arms” and “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” as well as “Rosanna,” “Africa” and “I’ll Be Over You” from Toto.
