U2 Set to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of “The Joshua Tree” Album at Arrowhead Stadium
Irish rock band and preeminent international sensation U2 announced additional North American dates for “The Joshua Tree” tour, including a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, September 12. The trek celebrates the 30th anniversary of that landmark album—the band’s chart-topping fifth studio release—which features “Where the Streets Have No Name” and the No. 1 hit singles “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “With or Without You.” “The Joshua Tree” (1987) went on to win Grammy Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal the following year. U2 has performed at Arrowhead Stadium twice in the past, on October 18, 1992 and on May 19, 1997. This third performance will mark the 50th concert in the Stadium’s history.
